We feel it is important to involve the residents as much as possible with various activities to encourage any existing hobbies or develop new interests. We have a fantastic dedicated  activities co-ordinator called Sian. We currently have the following regular activities :-

• Arts & crafts twice a week – very popular, a wide variety of ideas.
• Music for Health Concerts – very interactive getting residents involved with instruments.
• Pets as Therapy – visits from Shelby the qualified dog!
• Guitarist – "sing a long" sessions and can play requests.
• Weekly hymn concerts – all the favourites plus many more!

We have Zoolab, with a qualified wildlife handler bringing in and discussing various creatures as well as a recent visit from Elvis himself as part of a celebration of Porthcawls’ famous Elvis weekend.

We have regular visits from Trinity Church from volunteers to maintain social links. Our staff are trained to encourage residents to engage in a variety of group or individual games depending on their preferences. Any gardening enthusiasts are most welcome to potter about in the rear garden area. We have great fun holding parties celebrating many festivities throughout the year from Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Bonfire night etc. We have a Xmas dinner at a local hotel and everyone encouraged to attend including all staff. There is also a library service that visits every five weeks.

For residents to enjoy our great location, we have a designated member of staff who can escort residents to maintain their independence and social activities such as attending the local tea dance in the pavilion or go for a cup of tea/coffee in a local café etc.

Residents are encouraged to provide us with their feedback on a monthly basis during an informal residents meeting.
