Staff

The home is staffed by a great team of skilled and experienced staff. The Registered Manager & Proprietor,  Alexandra Crane  is also an experienced and qualified nurse BSc.Hons, RGN, RMA, Diploma Professional Practice, EN (G)). The Deputy Manager, Judith Thomas-Llewellyn is also a highly experienced and qualified nurse.

All shifts are covered with a senior member of staff on duty and we have designated night staff, catering staff and housekeeper.

 

Being a small home, we pride ourselves in being able to offer very personalised standards of care as staff get to know residents extremely well. It is imperative to us that staff are regularly updated on their knowledge and skills to provide them with the tools they require to deliver person centered care. They undertake QCF’s (which replaced NVQ) courses level 2- 4 in care. Topics covered include:-

 

  • Manual handling.
  • First aid.
  • Care of medicines
  • Health & safety
  • Dementia care
  • Person centred care planning
  • Food & hygiene
  • Protection of vulnerable adults
  • Risk assessments
  • Stroke awareness
  • Mental Health Act
  • Fire Safety
  • Death, dying & bereavement
